Who Are We

Additional Information

History:

As Columbus natives, we have seen the rise and fall of the city and the rise again. Most of our team grew up in the Midtown and East Columbus areas. As you will see, once we graduated in our respective disciplines, we made our own life choices. Ultimately, we knew our home city desperately craved the gifts we all carried, and because of that, we give you The Fountain City Difference Project Inc®™. Our team came together and decided we wanted more for our future, ourselves, our children, and our city. We sat down, weighed our pros and con, brainstormed ideas, and reasons why this was a need, analyzed gun violence stats and concluded that we needed to be a part of the solution and not just talk about the problem. Our Financial Operations Director said, "Let's have a water gun fight," Thus, Splash Jam®™ was born. We saw what this city had become and knew what could be. Still, we didn't want to limit ourselves, so we decided that our focus would be on Jefferson Co. AL, Lee Co. AL, Russell Co. AL, Muscogee Co. GA, Chattahoochee Co. GA., and Harris Co. GA.  These conclusions created the catalyst for the foundation of the organization and its mission. Our quarterly events will include concerts, block parties, education seminars, mentoring, tutoring, and financial literacy as we grow.

Mission:

Our Mission is to bridge the divide that cripples the youth and their future by equipping them with the power of choice.

Vision:

Our Vision is a nation where no child's life is lost at the end of a gun, at the hands of an aggressor, or because no one listened.

Values:

Community-We create connections that lead to sustainable and impactful improvement.

Youth Empowerment-Because it's what WE DO! We promote, strengthen, and develop curiosity in a safe and encouraging environment.

Courage-We welcome opportunities from all walks of life to motivate and inspire our success.

Hope-We believe in the power of choice and the impact of change due to all youth.

Integrity-We drive impact, work with conviction, and deliver high-quality, transparent results that are full of candor, void of bias, and tailored to the individual.

 Our Reason:

The Fountain City Difference Project is a 501(c)3 organization best positioned to empower youth with choices. We provide workshops on domestic violence, gun safety, and self-defense. We are uniquely suited to carry out our work because The Fountain City Difference Project:

  • Has created programs centered on youth and their empowerment
  • Offers Free youth advocacy sessions that provide a safe space for children to express themselves
  • And most importantly, we cultivate a sense of safety, strength, and excitement critical for long-term stability and empowerment.

What we do here is put ourselves in the shoes of the community. We know that every child deserves to have a choice, and we shape our efforts around that belief. We strive to be that outlet, choice, education, ear, and breath of freshness for those youth placed in an impossible situation. With us, every interaction is personal. We do this to make our organization as relatable as possible. We draw from our lives and share our stories because with The Fountain City Difference Project Inc®™; we believe there is no better way to impact someone's life than to show them you are authentic and serve with purpose, conviction, and heart.

The Fountain City Difference Project Inc®™ is where you seek refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We educate, inform, celebrate, and empower youth to live their best, longest, and most prosperous lives. Because we believe that fluidity and flexibility is an import staple to propel forward, our organization functions on the primary premise of youth empowerment; We then shape those ideas and community outreach events to cater to that demographic in whatever way that appears in the moment. As an organization founded with the hearts, minds, and well-being of the youth as the objective, our primary goal will continually be to decrease youth violence through choices. We bring our youth the peace and the self-assurance they need so they know they are empowered and capable. We will forever be here to remind them that when the world says they CAN'T, Fountain City Difference Project will show them WHY they CAN and HOW they CAN.
